We can talk about our successes, even about the things that do not fully satisfy us, but it is tough to admit our own faults and ignorance! That is why even a brilliant writer can not write their autobiography! But Jasim Mallik, a well-known Canada-based Bangladeshi novelist, has managed to tackle this troublesome business!

His autobiography Love and Longings is an amazing ballad-like narration that has been set in sequence with an eloquent oration! This nonfictional text manifests his journey from Barisal to Canada.

He has expressed all the pain, love, emotions and grievances he felt on this journey with a lot of honesty. The journey is relatable to many who have left their homelands. He has realized why people are compelled to stay abroad, leaving behind their homeland, loved ones, and their cherished sky, land, and water, amidst every rise and fall.

He has expressed the past moments of his expatriate life in an engaging manner. As a result, readers will be able to grasp the feelings of a person from the Eastern World regarding “West-ern Life” by reading the book.
