বছর তিনেক আগের কথা। ত্রিপুরায় বইমেলা হবে আর তার উদ্বোধন অনুষ্ঠানে অনলাইনে কিছু বলতে হবে। গুগল মিট-এ বলব বলে ঠিক ছিল কিন্তু আগরতলা থেকে যাঁর লিঙ্ক পাঠানোর কথা তিনি শেষ মুহূর্তে নিখোঁজ হলেন। বিয়ের সময় বর হারানোর মতো ব্যাপার। তখন অনুরোধ এল ফেসবুকের মাধ্যমে বলার জন্যে কিন্তু আমার ফেসবুক ছিল না। তাড়াহুড়ো করে মিনিট দশেকের মধ্যে ফেসবুক খোলা হলো। বক্তৃতাও দিলাম। তারপর ফেসবুক বন্ধ করতে গিয়ে দেখি স্কুল, কলেজ ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বেশ কিছু পুরোনো বন্ধু ফ্রেন্ড রিকোয়েস্ট পাঠিয়েছে। সে সঙ্গে সাহিত্য অকাদেমি, বিশ্বভারতী ইত্যাদি প্রতিষ্ঠানের সুজনরাও। ফলে বন্ধ করা গেল না।

তারপর প্রথম হাঁটতে শেখার মতো টলটল করতে করতে খানিকটা ধাতস্থ হলাম। প্রথমে লাইক দিতে শিখলাম, তারপর অন্যের লেখায় মতামত দিতে আর শেষে নিজের লেখার শেষে ছবি জুড়তে। প্রথম দিকে মাঝেমধ্যে লিখতাম। পরে শুনলাম অনেকদিন না লিখলে ফেসবুক অচল হয়ে যায়। তখন মাসে দু-তিনটে করে লিখব বলে ঠিক করলাম। লিখতে লিখতে লেখাগুলো কিছুটা বড়ো আকার নিতে লাগল। কালি আর কাগজের খরচ নেই বলে বিস্তার নিয়ে চিন্তা রইল না।

বেশ কিছু লেখার পর কোনো কোনো বন্ধু একটা বই করার কথা বলছিলেন। হঠাৎ ভিরাসত প্রকাশনের শ্রী পার্থপ্রতিম রায় নিজে থেকেই বই করবেন বলে জানালেন। তাতেই কিছু লেখা এক জায়গায় জড়ো করা। মাধ্যম হিসেবে অনেকে ফেসবুককে গুরুত্ব দিতে চান না কিন্তু আমার ভালোই লাগে। নিজে দু-কথা বললে আরও দশজন দশ কথা বলে। তাতে আমার কথাটা যেন পূর্ণতা পায়। বাখতিন যাকে বলেছিলেন বহুস্বরতা, সেটাই যেন অন্যভাবে ফেসবুকে দেখতে পাই। আমার লেখার সঙ্গে বন্ধুদের কিছু মন্তব্য এই বইটিতে থাকল। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জীবনে কলেজ স্ট্রিট ক্যাম্পাসে রাখালদার ক্যান্টিনে এভাবেই একজনের কথার সঙ্গে পাঁচজনের মত ও মতান্তর যোগ হয়ে যেত। তৈরি হত কথামালা।
