If someone asks you what a Debanjan Chakrabarti story is like and you relate the plot, you will never be able to do justice to the stories written by him. He does not allow himself to be bound by the plot. He weaves time past, present and future in an intricate way. Through ‘little asides’, he not only gives us a glimpse of how the minds of the characters work, but also what he thinks about different issues, social or otherwise. These stories add a new dimension to the already existing body of very rich Bengali literature.
