এবিষয়ে বাংলা ভাষায় প্রথম গবেষণাধর্মী গ্রন্থ। গ্রন্থটিতে বিদ্যাসাগরের দর্শনের প্রাসঙ্গিকতা বা গুরুত্ব কতখানি তারই একটি দিকনির্দেশ করা হয়েছে। উনিশ শতকে উত্তাল সময়ে বাঙালির মানস চৈতন্যে ধ্বনিত হয় তাঁর কর্মসাধনা। দার্শনিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি থেকে তাঁর কর্মবৈচিত্র্যের গতিপথের উৎসকে মূলত ধর্মচিন্তা, বস্তুবাদী, সাধারণ বোধ দর্শন, ভাষাদর্শন, নৈতিক দর্শন, নারীবাদী দর্শন, মানবতাবাদী দর্শন এবং শিক্ষাদর্শন- এই আটটি ধারায় বিচার-বিশ্লেষণের মধ্য দিয়ে বিদ্যাসাগরের দর্শনচর্চার পরিসরে বাঙালির মনন শৈলীর সন্ধান করা হয়েছে।

A significant addition to the study of Vidyasagar on the occasion of his 206th birth anniversary is the work titled ‘Vidyasagarer Darshan-chinta’ (Vidyasagar’s Philosophical Thought).

This is the first research-based book on the subject in the Bengali language. It explores the relevance and significance of Vidyasagar’s philosophy. During the tumultuous era of the nineteenth century, his life’s work resonated deeply within the collective consciousness of the Bengali people.

From a philosophical perspective, the origins of the diverse trajectory of Vidyasagar’s work have been examined through eight distinct lenses—religious thought, materialism, common-sense philosophy, the philosophy of language, moral philosophy, feminist philosophy, humanistic philosophy, and the philosophy of education—thereby exploring the intellectual style of the Bengali mind as reflected in Vidyasagar’s philosophical pursuits.
