Silajit Ghosh adopted a knowingly impersonal colour application and delineated areas of canvas with particular textural sharpness and clarity. This style is a significant response to the more natural forms of Abstract expressionism, but apart from those “isms”, Silajit has created his personal language by blending different colors and shades in harmony on his canvas. The pattern of the presentation of his language is a soliloquy. With colours, the artist speaks for himself.
A self-taught artist, the bold abstract experimental style of Silajit Ghosh has a signature of its own. His solo exhibitions at galleries in Kolkata and Mumbai have garnered accolades. His works are featured in collections both In India and internationally, including at Agora Gallery in New York and on the online platform Saatchi Art.
