  1. Gauri

Having read this as a column of daily musings, it gives me a great pleasure to read this as a collection, all together.

The delightful cover page gives a peek into what’s to come, delightful stories from our everyday lives that we have forgotten to see.

The illustrations are colourful, apt and eye-catching.

The birds, the squirrels, the children, the park, Sahil, Badal….. all of them will fill you life with joy, not to forget the cats ?

Go on! Make Dr Bakaya’s mornings your mornings and you would never be sad again.

  2. Mahua

I’m delighted to see the Morning Meanderings of Santosh Bakaya Ma’m in a collection .
She never ceases to amaze me by making the mundane come alive through her prodigious description of the place and her keen observation.

She can almost engineer stories with geometric accuracy in terms of plot, imagery, use of phrases and everything. Her stories will take you to the place of action and will make you float with the plot as if you’re a part of it! The stories will keep lurking in your head long after you’ve read it.

Read this wonderful collection and let yourself flow in sweeping meanders.

  3. Pankajam Kottarath

I have read most of the episodes of Morning Meanderings and am delighted to read it now in book form, all in one place. Musings from everyday life which most of us might ignore as mundane things have been skillfully articulated painting those moments so vividly before the readers.

Bakaya‘s lucid presentation of even small small things get etched in readers’ minds and her flowery language make people get hooked to what she is going to say. Her love for nature, birds, squirrels, her empathy towards migrant labourers, humour, all will make one feel like flowing with the theme. All the 58 articles in this book are exceptionally good and with appropriate illustrations, Morning Meanderings by Dr. Santosh Bakaya makes a worthy read.

  5. Brindha Vinodh

Compiled with great elan and elegance, this collection of essays is full of hope, optimism and motivation, construed with great passion in an effortless fashion by this wonderful writer. Dr. Santosh Bakaya paints vivid and myriad images with her words that we are not only carried away to the scenic aura but also to a world where humanity still exists in the the joy of simple and humble gestures of living.

That some of the essays maybe called poetic pieces is no exaggeration for they are simply beautiful with metaphorical connotations, alliterative phrases and excellent imagery. What makes this collection stand apart is her unique style of observing and absorbing the nuances of all things around her, be it the charming eyes of the innocent children, the antics of the avian community or the moodswings of Nature and drawing inspiration from them and expressing them in her inimitable and humorous way.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this humongous collection of morning musings and found them insightful, interesting and enchanting.
