Kamalendu Mishra

Kamalendu Mishra is a multifaceted professional with a rich blend of experience across sports, corporate communications, and quizzing. An accomplished cricketer and coach for over three decades, he began his journey as an eminent sportsperson before transitioning into the corporate world.

He spent a significant part of his career with the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), where he served in the Corporate Communications departments of two major units. Over the years, he also headed the Sports and Official Language (Rajbhasha) departments, establishing himself as a versatile and valuable contributor to the organisation.

Currently, Kamalendu serves as Associate Vice President (Communications) at Healthworld Group of Hospitals, one of the fastest-growing healthcare establishments in South Bengal.

Beyond his professional career, Kamalendu is widely recognised as a distinguished Quiz Master. Since 1984, he has been conducting quiz events and is regarded as one of the most sought-after quizzing professionals in the industrial regions of Asansol and Durgapur.

A lifelong football enthusiast, Kamalendu, along with his spouse Alaka Mishra, witnessed one of the most iconic moments in sporting history, Lionel Messi lifting the FIFA World Cup trophy in Doha on 18 December 2022. Through their son, Aniket Mishra, who was closely associated with FIFA during the Qatar World Cup, they had the unique privilege of attending four matches, including both semifinals, the third-place playoff, and the final, widely considered one of the greatest matches in World Cup history.
