B.M. Malhotra
B.M. Malhotra was born in a village near Chakwal (now in Pakistan) and white still in his teens, migrated to Delhi, in the wake of India’s partition in 1947. Since then, he has lived in New Delhi. After securing a Master’s degree in English literature, he worked for nearly 35 years in the Prime Minister’s Office, New Delhi, from where he retired in 1990.

Watching selected films, particularly the song-studded Hindi ones and writing about their different facets as well as iconic directors, music composers, singers and lyricists, has been one of his hobbies. Literature, spirituality, patriotism and India’s rich heritage have been his other interests and his numerous writings on films as well as these subjects saw the light of day in some newspapers and magazines. The Press Trust of India released many of them as “features”, while the All India Radio aired some others as “scripts for broadcast”.
